Niykee continues to write songs, even though she has been part of the current crisis. Niykee was selected for the YouTube Brandcast by Snoop and Snoop was on stage with her. A producer magnet Niykee is constantly looking through the numerous beats being sent to her. She has found that the majority of them spark new song ideas. Within five seconds, I'm able to tell the quality of a song or not. I then get an idea of a song and begin writing it right away. When I am playing my guitar outside on my porch the words begin to flow. A majority often, I'm accomplished in 30 minutes. Niykee is continuing to improve her abilities as a poet and lyricist. She says that the pain she experienced during her childhood has served as an infinite source of unique ideas. "Even in the absence of writing about my own life in the open the grief of losing my sister and my painful childhood is incorporated into my songs," she says. The resulting music is shaped by my experiences and gives it a deeper significance, something I consider very important. I want to be able to hear my music 20 years from now and be proud of my words.
